I’m a reporter, producer and anchor who’s been working in journalism for six years. My experience has made me a well-rounded storyteller with an ability to take an idea from inception to completion by serving as the interviewer, videographer, editor, writer and on-air correspondent. 

Like father, like son

“He needs a lucky Buckeye!” an Ohio State fan shouted, pointing at assistant coach Luke Fickell. OSU usher Ron Malone, who happened to have a Buckeye in his pocket, heard the call and delivered it to Fickell. That moment was the start of a new tradition — handing out Buckeyes to players and coaches as they walk through the north rotunda of Ohio Stadium. Ron died in 2016 but his son, Doug, has carried on the tradition with the help of his daughters.

Von Downing has been volunteering at the Memorial Tournament for 28 years. Three years ago, he found an unlikely protégé in five-year-old Marisol Mitchell. Now, the two are inseperable leaders of the 14th hole.
